Don't risk your car insurance cover
A recent survey by Kwik-Fit revealed that more than half of drivers admitted to tailgating. Yet everyone hates this type aggressive driving on our roads.
Over 50% of UK motorists said that they tailgate other drivers and didn't know stopping distances. Remember those - yes they are in the Highway Code.
The research found:
56% admit to driving too close to the car in front 90% underestimated the distances needed to safely stop their car
Driving too close was the reason for 7% of all accidents in Britain last year. A Kwik-Fit Director said: " The technology and stopping power of today's cars can lull yo into a false sense of security and any motorists that think they've forgotten recommended stopping distances should revisit the Highway Code to refresh their memory.
It makes sense to slow down, reduce the risk of an accident and save a hike your car insurance premiums.
